Advanced nanomaterials and two-dimensional (2D) materials are creating new opportunities across chemistry, materials science, biotechnology, and engineering. In particular, MXenes have attracted significant interest because of their tunable surface chemistry, high surface area, conductivity, and potential for functional modification. In parallel, nanozymes, nanomaterials with enzyme-like catalytic properties, are emerging as robust alternatives or complements to natural enzymes. Integrating MXenes, nanozymes, and other functional nanomaterials offers promising routes toward multifunctional systems with applications in catalysis, sensing, antimicrobial technologies, biomedicine, environmental remediation, and energy-related technologies. The symposium, which serves as a specialized session of the 7th International Conference on Materials Chemistry and Environmental Engineering (CONF-MCEE 2027), will focus on materials and nanomaterials.
The symposium aims to address key challenges in translating advanced nanomaterials from fundamental design and synthesis toward reliable and sustainable applications. Particular emphasis will be placed on understanding how composition, structure, surface functionalization, and nanoscale interactions influence material properties and performance. Recent advances in MXenes, nanozyme-based catalytic systems, hybrid nanostructures, and computational modeling provide opportunities to design materials with enhanced functionality, stability, selectivity, and biological activity. The symposium will encourage interdisciplinary discussion on innovative synthesis strategies, mechanistic understanding, modeling, characterization, and application-driven design to accelerate the development of next-generation functional nanomaterials.
The symposium welcomes experimental and computational contributions on MXenes, nanozymes, 2D materials, and advanced functional nanomaterials, covering their synthesis, surface modification, characterization, and modeling. Materials applications may include coating, catalysis, energy systems, antimicrobial and biomedical technologies, biosensing, drug delivery, and environmental remediation.
Accepted papers of the symposium will be published in Applied and Computational Engineering (ACE) (Print ISSN 2755-2721), and will be submitted to Conference Proceedings Citation Index (CPCI), Crossref, CNKI, Portico, Google Scholar, and other databases for indexing. The situation may be affected by factors among databases like processing time, workflow, policy, etc.
